Timeline of Novatek Welding
Novatek Welding was established in April 1994 by Dave Gubler, a welder/fitter graduate from Conestoga College.
Dave, an entrepreneur at heart, had a a vision of turning his one-man side business into a custom welding and fabrication company. To realize this dream, Dave leased a 12,000 sq/ft building in Cambridge, ON, hired two employees, and began his pursuit in becoming one of Cambridge’s best known and most respected Welding & Fabrication shops.
Over the past decade, Novatek Welding, under Dave’s leadership, grew by hiring 6 additional employees, added new capabilities by purchasing a Trumf laser, and increased the number of industries serviced by adding the automotive, medical, mining, and communications fields. This has allowed Novatek to be at the forefront of the welding and fabrication industry.
In May of 2012, Novatek’s headquarters moved to 34 Cowansview Rd in Cambridge, ON with the purchase of a 12,000 sq. ft. facility and a Mitsubishi 3015 VLPlus II series laser. The increase in sq/ft has allowed Novatek to take on bigger projects, add new machines, and increase its manufacturing capabilities to better serve it’s customers base.
In January of 2014, Dave Gubler decided to pursue teaching at Conestoga College and sold Novatek Welding to Mike and Ramona Smith. The husband and wife team sought to continue Dave’s legacy and maintain the strong reputation that Novatek has earned over the years for it’s competitive pricing, excellent quality, and industry best lead-times.

Today, Novatek Welding & Fabrication continues to provide custom and precision laser cutting and fabrication through its fully equipped facility and ISO 9001:2015 certified processes.
